Terms of use

What you can expect from us, what we ask of you, and what happens to the things you make.

Last updated 8 October 2026.

Who you're agreeing with

Eggox is run by Eggvelop ApS, Denmark, CVR 44287463, reachable at hello@eggox.net. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the Eggox Way, our rules for how to act in the game. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.

It's a beta

Eggox is still being built. Things will change, break and sometimes disappear, and we may need to reset parts of the world. We'll try to warn you first and to keep what you've made, but we can't promise it while we're in beta. Eggox is free, and nothing in it is for sale.

Your account

  • You need to be 13 or over to have an account. Chat, messages, friends and the shared world open only once you've checked you are 18 or over.
  • Joining is by invite while we're in beta.
  • Keep your password to yourself. What's done on your account is yours to answer for, and nobody from Eggox will ever ask for your password.
  • Your player name must not pretend to be someone else or break the Eggox Way.
  • You can stop using Eggox at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@eggox.net.

What you make

What you build, draw, script and publish in Eggox stays yours. So that we can run the game with it, you give us a worldwide, free licence to store, copy, show and share it inside Eggox and on our pages about Eggox (including pictures and videos of the world), for as long as it's in the game. Where you put something somewhere public, other players can see it and use it the way the game lets them.

Only put in what you have the right to: your own work, or work whose owner lets you. Don't upload anything illegal, hateful, sexual or meant to hurt someone.

How to act

The Eggox Way is part of these terms. On top of it: don't break or slow down the game on purpose, don't get around its limits or the age check, don't run accounts with scripts except through the Eggox command line and its tools the way they're meant, and don't sell or buy accounts or things for real money.

If you break the rules, we can remove what you made, limit what you can do, or close your account, depending on how serious it is. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and a person will look again.

Our part

We'll run Eggox with care and keep your data the way the privacy policy says. Eggox is provided as it is, and we're not responsible for losses from it being down, changed or reset, except where the law doesn't let us limit that (for example, when we act with intent or gross negligence). Nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer.

Changes and law

We may change these terms as Eggox grows. The date at the top moves when we do, and for a change that matters we'll tell you before it takes effect; if you keep playing after that, the new terms apply. Danish law applies, and disputes go to the Danish courts, unless the law where you live gives you a different right.
