The door

Verifying your age, once.

THE WORLD window in a new player's home space, set to Denmark, showing an AltID code to scan and a link to use a photo ID instead.

What it is

Anyone can build in their own spaces. The shared world is for players 18 and over: to leave your sandbox, chat, message people or add friends, you prove it once. Tell the door where you're from and it shows you the way in: your country's official age app where it's live, otherwise a photo ID and a quick selfie with our verification partner Didit, about a minute.

Fully anonymous, with an EU age app

Every EU country is rolling out an official age app, expected across the EU by the end of 2026. Denmark's, AltID, is live today, and each new one works here as it arrives.

You scan a code (or tap, on your phone) and say yes in the app. It tells us one thing: you're 18 or over, signed by your government. No name, no birth date, no photo. We never learn who you are.

With a photo ID

Everywhere else, our partner Didit reads the birth date off your document and tells us 18 or not. That's the only thing we ever store. Never your face, never your papers, never your name off the ID. The check opens in a new tab so you don't lose your place in the game.

What it costs

Nothing. Both ways are free. If a month's photo ID checks ever run out, they open again on the first of the next month, and our Discord is open meanwhile. The age apps work any day.

Tourist and citizen

Until you've been checked you're a tourist: you can walk your sandbox and build in it, but chat is off both ways and the Navigator, Social window and world are locked. After the check you're a citizen, and everything opens.
