Waygates

Put your place on the Go list.

A cozy garden plot with a waygate on its front walk and a visitor just arrived on it, and the WAYGATE card reading Pip's cabin, by Pip.

What it is

A waygate is a one-way public door into your place. Plant one and your plot appears in the Navigator: people pick it from the list and arrive standing at the gate. Nobody walks into a waygate; it's a destination, not a tunnel.

Where to get one

The Market, TRANSPORT aisle, free. Drag it out of your bag onto your own land, or into one of your spaces, to plant it. A waygate stands in one place at a time, so for a second one, take another.

Setting it up

Click your planted gate and open its window. Give it a name (this is what shows in the Navigator and what people search for) and choose who may arrive:

  • Anyone Everyone may come. The default on your land.
  • Ring Visitors ring a doorbell and you get a prompt: let them in or not.
  • Password Visitors have to speak the phrase you set.
  • No guests Nobody arrives. You always can. A new space's gate starts here.

Good to know

  • Pick the gate back up and your place leaves the list.
  • Ring requests aren't stored anywhere: if you don't answer, the visitor simply isn't let in. They can ring again.
  • Name it for what it is. "cafe" finds you more visitors than "my place".
